Accommodation

The conference will take place at the hotel Samokov (for other possibilities, see here) in the oldest and most popular mountain resort in Bulgaria - Borovets. Situated at 1350 m above the sea level on the northern slopes of Rila Mountain among age-old pine woods, Borovets is located at the foot of peak Moussala (2925m) - the highest one on the Balkan Peninsula. We offer the following packages for accommodation at hotel Samokov, full board (from August 19 - dinner included to August 24 - lunch included). 

  • for a single room - 35 Euro per day (175 Euro for five days) 
  • for a bed in a twin room - 28.50 Euro per day (142.50 Euro for five days)

The price includes accommodation, breakfast, lunch, dinner, use of swimming pool, parking, wireless internet, insurance, tourist tax and VAT.

The Rila Mountain is situated in the southwestern part of Bulgaria. The most visited part of the mountain is northwestern Rila, where the circus with the popular seven Rila lakes is situated. The famous Rila monastery is also situated in this part of the mountain.
The National Park Rila is situated in the Rila Mountain. It comprises a total area of 81 046 hectares and is the biggest of all three National Parks in the country and also one of the biggest in Europe. The park takes the southwestern part of Bulgaria on the territory of four regional centers. 

Local transportation 
If you plan to stay in Sofia for more days, we could recommend you the hotel of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences "Kedar". You could use the map.

You can take a taxi or can use the public transport (bus and tram) to the hotel of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, which is situated in the campus of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and it takes approximately 15 minutes from the airport by taxi. We could recommend you to use the taxi services provided by OK SuperTrans. The company operates subject to a special agreement with Sofia Airport and has its office inside the arrival terminal. 

Transportation to and from Borovets at arrival and departure dates 
Shuttles between Sofia and Borovets are organized by the Organizing Committee as follows: 

Sofia-Borovets: August 19, 15:30 and 20:00 from the hotel of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (see above for the address and how to get there). From 11аm in the Arrival Hall of Terminal 2 there will be a member of the OC with a tablet NM&A'18, who will provide information and guidance  where to change money and to take a taxi to the hotel of BAS.
The shuttle, leaving at 20:00 from the Hotel of BAS, will go to Terminal 2 of Sofia airport to take the participants, who will not be able to come on time to the hotel of BAS. If your arrival time is after 18:00, it is better to wait for the shuttle at the arrival hall, where the member of the OC will be. He (she) will have a connection with the shuttle.

Borovets-Sofia: August 24, in the late morning and at about 12:30.

If you are late for the buses Sofia-Borovets, it is possible to take a taxi from Sofia Airport to Borovets. It costs about 40 Euro, if taken from the office of the company "OK Supertrans",  situated inside the arriving terminal. We do not recommend to take a taxi, located at the front exit of the terminal. 

Visa 
Citizens of the EU and many other countries do not need visas to enter the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria.
